Carbon fiber idler Rollers

Carbon fiber idler rollers are widely used to support and guide continuous materials such as plastic films, paper, technical fabrics, nonwoven materials and other web products throughout industrial processing lines.

The exceptional stiffness-to-weight ratio of carbon fiber allows the production of extremely lightweight rollers while maintaining minimal deflection, even over long spans. The reduced mass lowers rotational inertia, improving machine acceleration and deceleration while contributing to greater process stability.

Compared with conventional steel rollers, carbon fiber idler rollers offer several important advantages:

  • Significantly lower weight
  • Higher critical rotational speed
  • Reduced machine vibration
  • Lower deflection under load
  • Improved web guiding accuracy
  • Reduced bearing and support wear
  • Easier handling during maintenance and replacement

Each roller is individually engineered according to its operating conditions, considering roller length, applied loads, rotational speed and processed material characteristics.

Fibercompositi manufactures custom idler rollers with diameters up to 300 mm and lengths up to 6.5 metres.
